6/29/2017 0 Comments July 27th - Wonder woman 2017I recently had a movie night with my family ( my lil sis, mom and dad) and we decided to watch Wonder Woman (Summer 2017 version) !
My whole family thoroughly enjoyed this movie in luxury recliners. I have to admit I am excited for her appearance in the next comic series Justice League movie that is set to come out in November 2017. This movie got me pumped up about super hero movies all over again ! I also think Gal Gadot is a super fit and beautiful woman. Makes me want to work out all the harder at the gym just to achieve a body like her. She also had a beautiful face that really matched what I and most people I believe would think Wonder woman looks like, sharp features and dark hair. I did not know wonder woman was from an Amazonian decent ? and I thought the blend of world war 2 and super hero action was an interesting movie creation. I do not believe this is exactly how the real wonder woman...meaning the original series was really like. I have to admit I did enjoy this version with its blend of amazonian/ greek mythology and modern war times to be an interesting story to watch. It was a 2 hour movie, but I honestly was hoping it was a little longer, it plays out as a 21st century woman reviewing her past experiences....but after that memory bubble you kinda wonder what she has been up to currently. At the end there is some references to Wayne enterprises and you know there are some new productions in the works with batman and them all together. Excited to see what happens next. This movie is family appropriate...not to sexualized or without enough action ...so I thought this was an excellent choice to see with the fambam !

I love this song by Ed Sheeran. Its great I think ! I think I have listened to it 10x straight already ! Total huge fan of Ed Sheeran, what a great artist he is. 1/26/2017 0 Comments Year 2017 - ResolutionIt is almost the end of the month but I decided like many others I should set some resolutions or goals for this years and check back
to where I am at at the end of the year. 1. laugh more - living a long life is about socializing and laughing more getting those positive hormones flowing in the body 2. eat healthier - my eating habits have been negative recently I find myself always picking up BBQ chips and chocolate and I have noticed that this habit has actually resulted in me gaining some weight...so I am going to be careful everytime I go grocery shopping to particularly drop the chocolate and chips. I aim to consciously not place it in my cart and instead pick up a honey crisp apple and tangerines or something. 3. exercise more - eventually I will have to get a gym membership sometime this year and when I do I will hopefully tone up my body more. I am not interested that much in gaining muscle but I definitely want to look tone. 4. Wear my clothes more/shopping less - I noticed I still have some clothes with the label on them so I am buying clothes but not wearing them so I plan on shopping for clothes less and wearing my closet more. 5. Drink more water - I am aiming for 2 litres a day, right now I am at 1.25 -1.5 litre a day which is not bad but a tip to having great skin is being well hydrated. 6. Blogging more - I want to make blogging a habit but I also need more things to talk about so I have to find some new hobbies such as trying out different restaurants and such to talk about in my blog. 7. Applying to teacher's college - I have the grades but minimal teaching experience, I need to get some solid classroom experience and apply to teachers college by September/October this year. That means I also have to write all the applications. 8. Drink less coffee and more tea - I am more conscious of my caffeine sensitivity so I am trying really hard to minimize coffee even though I love the stuff so much....hmmm caramel macchiatos. 9. Save money - I need to save some money for teacher's college, so I gotta put in more hours of overtime at work, which unfortunately means less time at the gym - this means I really have to be careful about my eating habits. 10. Do not eat after 7pm - this worked for me in highschool and my early university years I successfully lost weight by just not eating past 7pm. I do not know how I fell into the trap of eating after 7pm again in life but that has got to stop and I slowly want to slide this habit in. I know its going to be tough and I will have craving coming from work to a home filled with food, but I just got to discipline myself. 11. Be kinder - I want to be kinder to my family more this year especially, sometimes I can be frustrating when I want to get something done or go somewhere, learn to negotiate more and try to be kinder to my brother more - we seem to butt heads and have different opinions a lot. 12. Lose at least 30 pounds - this one is cliche but I need to put it down, I gained weight and I am having difficulty losing it, but by the end of the year - entire year, I want to be at least 30 pounds lighter - cheers to a healthier beginning. Struggling with PCOS has made weight gain really easy and weight loss very difficult but part of modulating the condition is maintaining a healthy body weight, which is not what I am at right now. By Mid -March I aim to be 10 pounds lighter because I gained those 10 pounds within the month of the holidays 13. Spring clean my room sometime soon - it needs some major organization and vacuuming , as well my closet needs some organization too. 14. Meditate - mental health is so important I want to add some mindfulness meditation and 5 minute mantras/ transcendental meditation in my life. 15. Try something new once a month - whether its a new food or restaurant just try something different and maybe write about it. 7/17/2016 0 Comments Healthy Snack or late dinner ideaI posted this on my instagram and got a lot of likes. I think the hardest thing about maintaining a healthy weight is poor food choices when life gets busy and stress levels creep up. I know I have those days where I am working all day and get home really late and binge on unhealthy food. Some things I have learned that help me is that protein and veggies go a long way to satisfy that hunger from a long day or late night of work. This is probably one of my favourite meal ideas...it really satisfying and filling. You just slice up some cucumber and top it with your favourite hummus. I personally like regular, avacado, black olive and spinach and articoke hummus. Sabra is a good brand, summer fresh is less "creamy" but a great choice too....or you can even make your own hummus. I have made my own hummus from chickpeas in the past but i normally buy it since it can take some time.
Hope you try this late meal or snack idea out ! Hope you enjoyed this post 😀! Xoxo Nia Article Link Here.
Here are Tim’s 6 tips:
I really like Lush because their products are all natural and homemade and they smell so nice. One of the soaps I particularly liked was one I bought over Christmas. It was the holiday soap called 'Reindeer Rock'. It is this redish-purple soap with a very unique scent, its is hard to describe. The scent reminds me of licorice but that is not what is smells like. So I bought a small chunk of this soap during christmas time and totally forgot about it, but found it again while I was cleaning my room before my vacation at the end of May. I decided to take this soap as my one my travel soaps. I used this soap for my face and I normally use dove or olay...but this one has been the best soap experience I have had. Maybe because I changed my game up I liked it so much. A really small piece lasted me for over 3 weeks, so this product does not melt away like Olay and dove soap bars. A small piece can go a very long way. If you only use a small bar for you face and neck (It is advertised as a hand and body soap....but I did not remember this and used it as for my face too!), I can easily see it lasting beyond 5-6 weeks! It lathers up really nicely...and it leaves your face feeling unbelievably clean and refreshed ! The scent is really invigorating and it is a really good wake-me-up soap...its not a soft and subtle scent like the moisture soap bars that are popular, its this hard, clean, unique and refreshing smell. Every time I used this soap to wash my face on my vacation, I got a huge boost of energy to start my day...I am in love with this smell now. I can not wait for this soap to come back again this Christmas and I am definitely going to stock up on it ! This is absolutely one of my favourite products from Lush, and I felt so satisfied with my purchase, this is one of the few products that I would repurchase. ....... Apparently it is made from Lingonberry ...I would have not guess this. This berry grows in the northern hemisphere, is tart and is a traditionally used in Swedish cuisine as well. Please comment if you liked this post or really enjoyed this product like I did. Xoxo Nia This song is a remake by Jonas Blue, I actually really like this song. The lyrics are below for this song. Listening to this songs makes me wonder how many great songs there are that were already sung years ago. It makes me feel like digging up an old old hit and singing it again with a different tune. There is something special about remaking something....if I think hard, one its the respect for the original ideas....and the fact that a great base can build something even more glorious. Hope you enjoy the remake of fast cars as much as I do, the original is from Tracy Chapman. JONAS BLUE LYRICS "Fast Car" (feat. Dakota) (originally by Tracy Chapman) You got a fast car I want a ticket to anywhere Maybe we make a deal Maybe together we can get somewhere Any place is better Starting from zero, got nothing to lose Maybe we'll make something Me, myself, I got nothing to prove You got a fast car And I got a plan to get us out of here I've been working at a convenience store Managed to save just a little bit of money We won't have to drive too far Just across the border and into the city You and I can both get jobs And finally see what it means to be living You got a fast car Is it fast enough so we can fly away? We gotta make a decision We leave tonight or live and die this way So I remember we were driving, driving in your car The speed so fast, I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder And I, I had a feeling that I belonged And I, I had a feeling that I could be someone Had a feeling that I could be someone You see, my old man's got a problem He lives with the bottle, that's the way it is He says his body's too old for working I say, his body's too young to look like his My mama went off and left him She wanted more from life than he could give I said, somebody's got to take care of him So I quit school and that's what I did You got a fast car And we go cruising to entertain ourselves You still ain't got a job And I work in a market as a checkout girl I know things will get better You'll find work and I'll get promoted We'll move out of the shelter Buy a bigger house and live in the suburbs You got a fast car Is it fast enough so we can fly away? We gotta make a decision We leave tonight or live and die this way So I remember we were driving, driving in your car The speed so fast, I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder And I, I had a feeling that I belonged And I, I had a feeling that I could be someone Had a feeling that I could be someone Sugar - Another remake...I even remember the older version when I was younger ! First one is by Baby Bash, the second one is by Robin Schulz...the words are different...but the theme of the song is very similar same with chorus and base beats. Makes you think, what can you do with an old classic ?This style of music is called 'glitch-pop'...I do not think all glitch pop music would be this good. But this is hands down my favourite glitch-pop song !
KIIARA LYRICS "Gold" Roof is falling let me love falling I just know [x3] Roof is falling let me love me Gold up in my, gold up in my teeth (Gold up, gold up in my teeth) Don't care what you say to me, I'm a bite your feelings out (Gold up in my teeth) I missed you in the basement (Gold up in my teeth) But your brother was a good substitute for you And if you love me, love me but you never let me go When the roof was on fire, you never let me know Say you're sorry honey, but you never really show And I could leave the party without ever letting you know Without ever letting you know [x3:] Roof is falling let me love me falling I just know Roof is falling let me love me without ever letting you know Roof is falling let me love me falling I just know Without ever letting you know Gold up in my, gold up in my teeth (Gold up, gold up in my teeth) Taste like money when I speak (Gold up, gold up in my teeth) And I missed you in the basement (Yeah, gold up in my teeth) Bodies on the pavement (Oh, gold up in my teeth) And if you love me, love me but you never let me go When the roof was on fire, you never let me know Say you're sorry honey, but you never really show And I could leave the party without ever letting you know Without ever letting you know [x3:] Roof is falling let me love me falling I just know Roof is falling let me love me without ever letting you know Roof is falling let me love me falling I just know Without ever letting you know Gold up in my, gold up in my teeth (Gold up, gold up in my teeth) Taste like money when I speak (Gold up, gold up in my teeth) And I missed you in the basement (Yeah, gold up in my teeth) Bodies on the pavement (Oh, gold up in my teeth) And if you love me, love me but you never let me go When the roof was on fire, you never let me know Say you're sorry honey, but you never really show And I could leave the party without ever letting you know Without ever letting you know [x3:] Roof is falling let me love me falling I just know Roof is falling let me love me without ever letting you know Roof is falling let me love me falling I just know Without ever letting you know Having spent about 3 weeks in France and Germany for vacation this year I decided to write a short blog on the unique qualities and differences in the lifestyle of Parisians, local Germans as well as provide some very useful tips on where to spend your money when in France or Germany ! `1) First thing you will notice in France is the really popular expresso culture. In Canada we have just our regular coffee, typically Starbucks or Tim Hortons. Some people like the double-double or a triple-triple. If I am at starbucks I just get the regular pike or a double-double. In France the 'coffee' is not that popular and you probably will have to be very creative in demanding what you normally get in Canada or North America. In Paris people will sit for hours at a Cafe slowly sipping on a tiny espresso. The size of an espresso is so feebly small and so bitter to what a typical Canadian is used to ! Since the espresso is the drink of choice, there typically will be some good deals with it. In the subway the other day I bought a really yummy crispy croissant ( fresh and hot -- in a subway cafe !) with an espresso for 2 euro ! That is a pretty damn good deal ! 2) The cost of living in Paris, France is very very expensive. I thought New York was expensive, but with the exchange rate in euros ( from Canadian dollars) goods, meals and transportation can leave a huge dent in your wallet ! If you want a 3 zone subway ticket ( Metro or RER more commonly called in France) it can cost about 2.85 euros ( if purchased as a unit of 10 tickets, otherwise it is 3.55 euros each ticket !!! ). Going towards Paris is more expensive than going away from Paris ( like zone 3 to zone 4 tickets cost about 1.90 euro). That being said just to inform you Paris is separated into 4 zones. When I first saw how theses zones were divided I kind of thought it was really stupid, if I compare it with Toronto. Though Paris has a much more webbed and developed subway system, really in comparison going from Finch subway to Union would account for the distance of nearly all four zones that Paris is divided into. In Canada if you go past Bloomington in King City/Richmond Hill border, you enter the next zone, so there is some fair amount of play room in Canada. Because Paris is divided into such small zones it feels like you paying way to much for transit. 3) How cheap it is to buy good cheese in France as well as good wine. The french do eat the best. Good cheese in France can be bought, a very good piece too for about 2 euros and sometimes even less ! Cheese lovers dream come true is going to France. Boursin in France since it is made there can easily be on a regular day 1.30 Euros on sale 0.80 or less ! Recall that tax is included in the price seen, so this is a really great deal. Today at the grocery store I saw the same cheese for about 5.99 cad, this price does not include the 13% HST...so even with the exchange rate, we pay a lot more for good cheese in Canada. Food is dramatically more expensive in Toronto/GTA Canada than France and Germany. I will admit sometimes restaurants can be expensive in Europe, but the food is that much better. France had great Indian restaurants that are also reasonably priced, but trust me, taste better than many of those in Canada. Because food is so stressed and important to french culture, it is very unlikely that you will ever encounter bad food at restaurants in France. This place is pretty much a foodie's dream ! 4) Clothes are expensive in Europe. If your going to Europe to shop for clothes, do not bother. In Canada you will see many many good sales for clothes and the H & M and Forever 21 and all that jazz, pretty much have the same style....buy them in Canada ! Generally I found the sales much better in Canada, the selection better and the prices remarkably cheaper. You will not get a bargain generally in Europe for clothing, even though food does cost a lot less in Europe than in Canada, clothes are similar in pricing if not more, fewer bargains in Europe and the exchange does not favour Canadians with regards to the price of clothes. 5) Stock up on hand creams and facial (cleansing) products in Germany - Alright Germany is great, they are pretty damn good at science and have higher FDA regulations than Canada and USA so not only do they have great local brands like Neutrogena and Nivea ( made in dutch speaking countries, Nivea is made in Germany ! ), most of their facial masks are dermatologist approved and the cost is ridiculously cheap ! So cheap...I mean you can buy a Neutrogena facial cleaner and toner for around 4 euros ! This is a great price cause the same exact product in english packaging costs about 11-13 dollars typically in Canada...so this is a big score for you if you like those products. Garnier is also another brand that is ultra cheap there. I stocked up serious, especially on toner cause I have combination oily skin and always find I run out quickly and dread buying it cause its soooo expensive in Canada. Also good quality hand creams are always on sale in Germany at Rossman and other local 'drugstore' - ie the 'shoppers drugmart' equivalent in Germany. You can easily stock up and each will cost less than 1 euro. 6) Makeup should be bought in Canada- I have no clue why but lipsticks, concealers, eye liners etc are much more expensive in Europe. If you want Loreal, Maybelline and pretty standard drugstore makeup; it costs the same price in Euros or more...so your better off buying them in Canada. Seriously. 7) Baguettes and croissants = Do not leave France without indulging in some !!! - They are everywhere in France and it is part of their culture, dinner or breakfast may include fresh made baguettes, they are bought at the 'Boulangerie' which means bakery in english. Bakeries are typically their own store in France especially in local areas outside of highly urban Paris. The boulangerie will make baguettes and fresh bread all day long, and trust me, they run out fast. There are many times I have walked from my aunts house to pick some baguettes up and have had to wait 15mins for the local boulangerie to make fresh bread. I kid you not, my hands are literally burned from the fresh baguettes, they literally take them out of the oven and put it in a 'brown bag' = their own logo-ed brown and white paper bag. Since bread is made every 15-30 minutes, there is always a line up outside and since people buy them for their families ( 3+ baguettes each purchase), you can easily be in the line and if your closer to the end, they will run out and you may be told to wait another 15mins or be told to come back ! This has happened me, I personally walk around and go to other nearby stores, but sometimes I luck out and just end up waiting there again for fresh bread. Do not leave Paris (France) without indulging on some fresh baguettes with Boursin cheese as well as some croissants. Ps. a baguette is so staple it costs no more than 0.90 euros generally and a croissant can range from 0.60 euros to 1.50 euros. I used to talk about how amazing sobeys butter croissants were but forget that, France tops any I have had in Canada. Hope you found this post useful and feel free to comment and share your own Europe travel experiences below as well. I would love to hear your additional tips.
